The mission of the Swissvale Farmers Market is to provide healthy, fresh produce, improve local food security, support the entrepreneurial efforts of local businesses, support local farmers, and promote a sense of community.
To that end, the steering committee has worked tirelessly to create a vibrant market that is welcoming to all. We offer first rate locally grown produce, the highest quality baked goods and prepared foods, and a variety of hand made crafts and gift items. We have partnered with Just Harvest to make SNAP benefits available at the market and we are educating the young people of our community on the value of good nutrition through our Eat a Rainbow program. Our weekly entertainment includes a wide range of musicians from young students just starting out to some of Pittsburgh’s finest professionals and semi-professionals. Our market is a place to shop, relax, meet up with friends, have a snack, and enjoy the best our community has to offer.
Please come and join us as we begin our fourth season on Saturday, May 13 in our location behind Dickson School at 7301 Schoyer Avenue. This year’s vendors include Larry Musser Farms, Jodikinos Farms, Rescue Street Farm, Great Harvest Bread, Pitaland, Goodfella’s Restaurant, Triangle Grill, Portogallo Peppers N’at, Knitting with Pam and Donna, Meem’s Knits, Lenny Pang Designs, and more to be announced soon.
